Who am I ?

The principal Rex Henderson graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1975 after gaining a Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and has been practicing Civil and Structural Engineering in the Hunter region ever since.

As a member of the Institute of Engineers of Australia, much experience has been gained in the housing, commercial and industrial sectors.

Services offering advice to home purchases in relation to structural adequacy, building defects, rectification of defects and suitability of existing buildings for extension have become a major part of the practice. In addition, advice can be provided to vendors wishing to rectify structural defects prior to sale.

Why Engineer inspections?

Purchases and vendors can enter into agreements with an increased level of confidence after receiving engineering advice. This is often undertaken in consultation with building inspectors and other consultants.

The need for prompt service is recognised as time is usually an important factor when contracts are exchanging.

Any suspect defects will be thoroughly inspected to determine the source of the problem and a course of action to rectify the problem will be clearly outlined in the report. Small defects identified early and rectified can reduce your future maintenance costs dramatically.

If minor structural defects are not attended to and rectified they may deteriorate and become potentially dangerous.

It is most important that all structural faults be identified and the correct remedial action be acted upon.

The earlier a problem is identified and corrected the safer and less costly the repair will be.
